Kinkeads American Brasserie was superb!! The owner -Robert Kinkead says this restaurant has "pretty much won anything you can win in the restaurant business". At 47, Bob is a regular James-Beard award-winning chef with expertise in down-home seafood.
Once I read the write-up, I was curious about how his cutting edge creations must taste and was tempted and made the reservations ahead of time. Of course, that was a gratifying experience and now I know why the food and ambiance of Kinkead's are both "award-winning"!!
Our waiter was a kind gentleman who walked us to a very private and cosy table in an alcove with a brilliant view of I street and we had the most elegant dinner with bubbly to ring in the New Year. After dinner we rushed off to our Music show at the Kennedy Center so here is what we ate......................
My Crab Cake appetizer with roast green beans and corn relish |
R's Fried Ipswich Clams and Tartar Sauce |
R's rare grilled pepper encrusted tuna steaks were awesome on polenta, broccoli rabe and grilled portobello mushrooms in a smooth gravy. Yumm!!
Dreamy sweet ending with Caramel bourbon Pear tart with Vanilla bean icecream................
It sounds like a cozy, romantic evening :)
